Compliance Programs & Regulatory Review

While patients always have the option to seek physical therapy services in other settings, physician owned physical therapy services provide patients a more convenient option to access clinical services with a significantly reduced delay between referral and initial therapy evaluation. In addition, physical therapy in a physician setting enables ongoing and interactive direct communication between a patient's physician and licensed physical therapist. By eliminating a therapist's role in marketing and reimbursement management, physician based physical therapists focus solely on patient care and optimal outcomes. Typical IRG outcomes demonstrate a reduced duration of care as compared to non-physician based outpatient rehabilitation settings. Practiced based physical and occupational therapy has provided an alternate source to income as many practices are forced to cope with declining reimbursement and patients are increasingly demanding convenience and integrated care. While adding these services can increase practice revenue and expand the continuum of care, the success of adding a service is not a foregone conclusion. The complex and everchanging regulatory and compliance environments present challenges and require expertise to navigate the intricacies of government and commercial health plan requirements.

Integrity Rehab Group not only understands the complexity involved including physical therapy as an ancillary service to a physician practice, but has a well developed compliance program, audit program, and federal/state regulatory monitoring program. Leveraging our experience and education, IRG’s sophisticated programs include a proactive approach to stay abreast of current trends and changes.
